Mail forwarding is handled by the file .forward in your home directory. You can upload from outside the institute via SFTP by connecting to hexagon.renyi.hu. To start forwarding your mail, create this file, using any text editor and insert entries according to the following examples.

Assume your username at the Renyi Institute is abcde, then to forward to your account anotheraccount@gmail.com and keep a local copy, you would use:

  \abcde, anotheraccount@gmail.com

The backslash (\) is used to "escape" the name that follows. This tells the mail program to deliver the message locally. To forward your mail to the local account VWXYZ and still keep a copy for abcde, you would use:

  \abcde, VWXYZ

To forward only to anotheraccount@gmail.com you would use:

  anotheraccount@gmail.com
